Our recipe of the month is Homemade Granola brought to you by our very own Community Dietitian. This snack serves 8-10 people and only takes 35 minutes to make!
1 ½ cups of whole oatmeal
½ cup of chopped almonds
½ cup of walnuts
½ cup of unsalted peanuts
½ cup of sunflower seeds
1 tbsp. of vanilla extract
2 tbsp. of coconut oil or olive oil
3 tbsp. of honey or maple syrup
½ cup of raisins or 70% cocoa
chocolate chips (optional)
1. Preheat oven to 350° F
2. In a large bowl, put the oatmeal, walnuts, almonds, peanuts,
and seeds, add the oil, vanilla and honey or maple syrup,
3. Spread mixture on a baking sheet (on a silicone mat or
parchment paper) and bake for 30 to 35 min. or until it is
4. Stir the mixture a couple of times while baking.
5. Remove from the oven. Add chocolate chips or raisins if desired.
