Brenda’s Story

Brenda was diagnosed with breast cancer, and though her family supported her in any way that they could, what they did not know was that she as much as she wanted to be a fighter every day for them, there were days that she just buried herself in her pillow – crying.

She was silently suffering with not only her treatment, but her identity. The support groups at The Pink Ribbon Place helped give her the encouragement to know that she was not alone when she surrounded herself with other women who had already been through the cancer journey; to feel confident in who she was, and be okay with who she was becoming.

Stories like Brenda’s are all too common here at The Pink Ribbon Place. The need for more support and resources such as wigs and bras during and after cancer is at an all-time high. Though the needs of the women under our care vary, every single one of them are important to me and I know they are important to you.
