Pink on Parade: Team Highlight

Steve Stroder, retired, former President and CEO of California TrusFrame believed in the importance of giving back to the community. Motivated by his cousin battling breast cancer and several staff who had been impacted by the disease, Steve found a meaningful cause to give back to.

Steve found Pink on Parade. With only a week to go before the walk, Steve sent an email to his staff inviting them to stand behind this cause. His expectations were low because of such short notice, but he was pleasantly surprised to have 101 of his staff members sign-up to attend Riverside’s breast cancer awareness walk, Pink on Parade.

The next year, Steve was more prepared. He gave the company about three weeks' notice and ended up more than doubling the amount of staff members that attended the previous year. Over 246 staff members joined the walk. Steve continued to increase attendance over the years for Pink on Parade!

“I am trying to create a culture of good, a culture of giving,” said Steve. “We work hard to be good corporate citizens.... [this walk] really bonds our people together and encourages cohesiveness. It’s fun to be a part of something like this and give back.”

Steve shared that the feedback from staff had been great. He noted a spirit of gratitude from staff during the event. "People are touched by this disease and it is near and dear to their hearts. It’s something that a lot of people can really relate to.”

The California TrusFrame team always brings a lot of Team Spirit to the walk. They  come full force. At a past Pink on Parade event, they acquired a 48-foot stretch trailer that they use to deliver product, painted it PINK and showed it off at Pink on Parade.  Now that's Team Spirit!
